Ted's Thirty Day Awakening
Ted has always been good at inventing stories about what he would do if he knew he only had a limited time left on earth.
Ted knew what he would do.
Thirty days. That’s all the time Ted had. Seven hundred and twenty hours (if he didn’t sleep). Just thinking about it was making him anxious.
“This must be what it feels like to be on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire or Cash Cab as opposed to sitting at home and answering all the questions,” Ted thought. “It’s so much easier when there’s no real pressure.”
But this was real. Ted had to turn his life around and he had to do it now!
Over the course of the past year, Ted had somehow managed to keep pushing the deadline a little further off into the future. August had become October and then October morphed into November. Ted had started to believe that it could go on like this—forever. That somehow the end would never come.
But as Ted sat staring at the two letters he had just received he knew in his gut that this was it.
There would not be any more time extensions.
The Cavalry was not going to come charging over the hill to rescue him.
What would happen over the course of the next few weeks was up to him.
For the first time in his life, Ted was going to have to create a plan, follow through on the plan, and ask others for help along the way.
