Never pass up an opportunity to CHALLENGE the status quo
Status quo is just another word for mediocre. It is the level where all things are equal. It is the easy road that most people travel down. It is not where great ideas come from or fulfilling lives are lived. It is almost like giving up.
The more often that you look for opportunities to break free of the "same as always" ailment, the more fulfilling your life will be.
